Why Boca Raton is Emerging as One of the Most Luxurious Places to Live
Boca Raton has emerged over the past decade as one of the most luxurious and exciting new developing communities in South Florida. Traditionally known as a retirement community north of Miami, Boca Raton has seen an influx of new property development and attractions that has brought in a new generation of luxury condo and apartment buyers, as well as a newfound tourism industry. Often considered a “suburb” of the Miami metropolitan area, Boca Raton has emerged as its own destination for tourism and luxury living. The city has some of the best and most pristine beaches in all of South Florida as well as world class dining, shopping, and hotels.
Easy Access to Airports 🛩
Flying to Boca Raton is most accessible through Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International, about 25-35 minutes south on I-95, depending on traffic. Miami International Airport further to the south and West Palm Beach about 30 miles north are also options. All three of these airports provide a reasonable ground transportation to Boca Raton and is perhaps one of the reasons the community has grown in popularity in recent years. Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International tends to be less congested than its larger counterpart, Miami International. Despite the travel experience being a bit easier at Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International, Miami International offers the largest selection of destinations and international flights. West Palm Beach Airport also hosts a number of charter flights and private runways equipped to handle private aircraft or chartered flights.
Scenic Interstates & Highways 🛣
If traveling to Boca Raton by car, it is easily accessible from all of South Florida’s major highways and thoroughfares. Situated right off of I-95 to the east as well as Florida’s Turnpike to the west, both roads provide access to the heart of Boca Raton. While these roadways can become congested during peak traffic times, traffic in and around Boca Raton is significantly better, as a whole, than some beach communities further south and closer to Miami. Federal Highway (US-1) and the A1A also run north-south through Boca Raton and provide a beautiful and scenic drive that is much quieter than other South Florida communities.

Abundance of Moving & Storage Options 🚚
Boca Raton and South Florida offer a host of moving companies and marina facilities to help move and store your belongings. With the high-end clientele moving to Boca Raton en masse, many moving and storage companies specialize in handling expensive and sensitive items, such as fine art, antiques, and exotic cars. America’s Family Moving and Storage is home to a large climate-controlled and hurricane proof storage facility with a great reputation in the area. Independent contractors that are vetted can also be found through Angie’s List and other online services. Always be sure to do your due diligence before hiring a moving company in Boca Raton, but there are plenty of safe and reliable options for transporting and storing your valuables.
It is also important to check with your condo or apartment superintendent to ensure you are moving on designated days/time. Many luxury condo and apartment complexes in Boca Raton have restrictions on when moving can take place in order to protect the privacy and condition of the building. Many luxury buildings in Boca Raton even have maintenance staff on hand that will help move and/or store your belongings safely.
For speciality valuables, I recommend Robo Vault. This is one of the most secure and safe facilities in all of South Florida and is conveniently located just off of I-95.
Outstanding Waterfront Marinas ⛵️
There are tons of waterfront marinas and nautical-themed communities in Boca Raton. Many yacht clubs and marinas in Boca Raton are regarded as some of the best in South Florida as well as the United States. The Boca Raton Resort & Marina has been around for over 50 years and is often the place where celebrities, politicians, and famous dignitaries park their vessels. The facility is capable of docking and storing vessels of any size, from small family craft to large super yachts. In addition to top notch boat storage, maintenance, and service, the Boca Raton Resort and Marina has a host of amenities for members and guests, including a fine dining room, a pool, showers, outdoor storage, a fitness center, and a clubhouse known for hosting some of the most elegant parties in town.
- Private Residences – Boca Raton has miles and miles of waterfront properties in the back bay and canals of the Intercostal Waterway. Many homeowners will rent their dock space for small or large vessels upon request. Boat owners who frequently use their boat but do not necessarily want to take part in the yacht club community find this option the most appealing.
- Dry Storage – Dry storage can be a great option for smaller vessels and for vessels only being used seasonally. While the weather in Boca Raton allows you to keep your boat docked in the water year round, dry storage is the best option to prevent the corrosive effects of salt water and potentially damaging conditions during hurricane season.

Perhaps the best part about Boca Raton is its beautiful white sand beaches. The city limits development along the beach, so almost the entire coastline is uninterrupted by condos or limited access. Parking is available by permit or a fee and is abundant at all entry areas. When you walk over the dunes in Boca Raton there are beautiful wooden boardwalks that open up to some of the cleanest and best beaches in South Florida. There are plenty of spots for swimming, surfing, or sunbathing, and all beaches are guarded during peak seasons. The bike lane along A1A is sectioned off and is a popular outdoor attraction in Boca Raton for runners, bikers, walkers, and fitness enthusiasts.
While there are lots of options for luxury condos and single family homes in Boca Raton, it has grown to see an influx of visitors. Federal Highway in Boca Raton as well as some beach blocks are home to some of the world’s best hotel brands that attract high-end travelers from around the world.
